Arup San Francisco is seeking an experienced Cost Professional to Lead the Cost Management team in the Americas. We have an established team in San Francisco currently serving clients across North and South America. The Team Leader will be based in San Francisco and will have the responsibility of establishing and growing Cost Management teams in other Arup offices within the Americas. The role will require a passion for first class service delivery, implementing best practice, continuous improvement and promoting Arup externally.
In this role, YOU WILL: • Develop the full range of Arup’s Cost Consulting service offering with the Americas with a specific focus in the San Francisco Bay Area market. • Handle business development and marketing of Arup’s full range of services with a primary focus on Cost Consulting services and developing relationships with existing and new clients. • Lead a team of cost, schedule and risk consultants and developing cost consulting offering for internal and external clients. • Have complete responsibility for fostering creation of and reporting of construction cost, schedule and risk deliverables to internal and/or external clients. • Develop, engage and motivate a cohesive, multi-disciplinary team of consultants in the San Francisco office with a range of skills and experience levels, including existing staff and recruitment of new staff. • Address, counsel and advise on best approaches, level of detail, Work Breakdown Structure, database application, etc. of particular deliverables. • Suggest formats for deliverables that most effectively satisfy the output required by the internal and/or external clients. • Check all estimates within the Arup Quality management system. • Present technical, economic, and financial material in traditional and innovative ways for review by specialized and lay audiences as well as writing reports for internal and external clients.
YOU HAVE: • A Construction Management or related Engineering degree. • A minimum of 15 years of relevant experience across a variety of project types e.g. rail, bridges, buildings etc. • Previous experience in roles such as Chief Estimator, Senior Quantity Survey, Cost Consulting Leader, Cost Engineering Leader, Cost Management Leader, Project Controls Lead, Program and Project Management Leader. • Active involvement with and Certification(s) from AACE International, ASPE, RICS and CMAA beneficial. • The ability to work under pressure, prioritize effectively, manage deadlines and exceptional organization skills required for our rapidly changing environment. • Ability to mentor and supervise all lower level staff. • Extensive experience acting in a leadership capacity. • Commercial experience is essential along with a proven track record of winning and retaining new Clients. • Project/Program Management and Project Controls experience. • Excellent written, verbal, presentation and communication skills. • Excellent planning and organization skills required for our fast-paced environment. • Motivation and willingness to take on new challenges.
