WSP is currently initiating a search for a Risk Manager for our Sacramento office.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The California High Speed Rail Authority has awarded WSP the Program Management role within the Rail Delivery Partners (RDP) program delivery team. As a result, we have an immediate opportunity for a Risk Manager in the program office and located in Sacramento, CA with occasional travel.
The main duties of the Risk Manager are:
Coordinating and leading the risk management team meetings
Identification of project risks via workshops with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders
Developing, maintaining, and updating project Risk Management Plans and Risk Registers through the various phases of project development and construction
Performing cost and schedule risk analysis utilizing the Monte Carlo simulation software.
Works with the project controls staff in incorporating appropriate risk in the cost and schedule assessments and establishing contingencies
Setting up the risk management information system.
Contribute to Executive and Board level papers and reports
Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, project management, or related technical field. Experience in lieu of degree is acceptable.
Demonstrable technical risk management acumen – including the building and running of detailed quantitative cost (QCRA) and schedule risk (QSRA) models and the interpretation of analysis results.
15 plus years of progressive experience with increasing responsibility.
Experience in a public-sector Risk Management role (preferred)
Relevant Risk Management qualification from a recognized Institution (preferred)
Experience with transportation projects in California (preferred)
