Project Controls Specialist I
National Security Technologies, LLC (NSTec), a prime contractor to the U.S. Department of Energy’s National Nuclear Security Administration, has an immediate opening for a Project Controls Specialist I. Work location is at the Nevada National Security Site located 65 miles northwest of Las Vegas, NV. U.S. Citizenship required.
Successful candidate will provide support to the Mission Facilities Division within the Infrastructure Management & Modernization (IMM) Directorate. Specific duties include: Interface directly with program, project and functional team members to obtain required input in a multiple-project environment. Support for program/project teams in all phases of the project lifecycle (initiation, planning, execution, control, and closure). Develop and maintain baselines within Primavera (P6). Prepare reports to reflect program/project status, cost and schedule trends, funding and project uncertainties. This position requires a passion for numeric data analysis and the ability to assist Program and Project Managers in developing metrics to support the measurement of performance to cost and schedule objectives. Analyze current and historic cost data utilizing Project Controls Reporting System (PCRS) and proactively identify and communicate off-normal cost performance. Support project deliverables and assist in the development of project reviews for internal briefings. Ensure all monthly cost expenditures are recorded each month, including the input of accruals, tracking of travel expenditures, and research of outstanding commitments. Open/Close charge numbers in the ORACLE system. Assist other team members as necessary. Perform related work as assigned by the division/program management. This position will require a Department of Energy Q Clearance. Reviews and tests for the absence of any illegal drug as defined in 10 CFR Part 707.4, “Workplace Substance Abuse Programs at DOE Sites,” will be conducted. Applicant selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation, and subsequent reinvestigations, and must meet the eligibility requirements for access to classified matter. Eligibility Requirements – To obtain a clearance, an individual must be a U.S. citizen at least 18 years of age. Reference DOE Order 472.2, “Personnel Security.”
