The position of Senior Estimator will be responsible for the development of highly complex project cost estimates for our advance nuclear reactors and nuclear technology projects. Additionally, the Senior Estimator will have the responsibility for the development and implementation of a formal cost estimating process, the rollout of cost estimating tools and standards that will align with the Project Management Office (PMO) requirements. This position will report to the Manager of Project Controls and will work closely with project management, project controls, and the centralized engineering organization, as well as other TerraPower internal organizations and partners.
Produce complex project cost estimates and projections using a variety of cost estimating techniques and formal methodology.
Obtain accurate and current pricing information from databases, subcontractors, suppliers, vendors to be utilized in cost estimates and documented in the estimate basis.
Perform cost estimate data analysis in conjunction with project team inputs and trend projections to validate and/or revise Estimate to Complete (ETC) and Estimate at Completion (EAC) costs.
Conduct cost risk analyses and assessments; identifies high-risk issues that could impact project success and recommend solutions.
Implement a standardized cost estimating process to support the requirements of the cost estimate review and approval board.
Create estimating guides and procedures and provide specialized assistance for the resolution of complex estimating problems.
Support preparation and presentation of project controls periodic performance reporting deliverables.
Support preparation and review of project change requests and other cost estimating deliverables.

Key Qualifications and Skills
Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field.
10 years experienced in developing, maintaining, documenting cost estimates on nuclear power generation, nuclear facility, large EPC, or Department of Energy (DOE) type projects.
Working knowledge AACEI Recommended Practice (RP) 17R-97, “Cost Estimate Classification System”; and RP 18R-97 “Cost Estimate Classification System.
Working knowledge of DOE G 413.3-21 and GAO Cost Estimating and Assessment Guide (GAO-09-3SP)
Exceptional interpersonal and communication (both written and verbal) skills.
Ability to work cross-functionally and build positive working relationships.
Strong problem identification and resolution skill.
Experience with cost estimating software and data warehouse of historic estimate inputs.
Proficiency in Microsoft software (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio) and ability to learn new software quickly.
Proven ability to work independently with little or no supervision.
