Responsibilities
In charge of planning/scheduling, cost engineering and reporting for capital projects which range from 30 to 200 m$. Reports operationally to Project Managers and functionally to the Director of Project Services.
Scheduling
-
Implement appropriate scheduling and progress measurement processes for capital projects, for all phases ie engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning

Develop a project WBS and establish a baseline schedule (in Primavera P6) that integrates all project stakeholders, using resources and/or quantities loading

Check / Validate the schedules submitted by third parties and ensure that interfaces are correctly managed in a Project Integrated Schedule

Define for each project an activity weight mapping and a progress measurement procedure

Review and analyse third parties’ schedule updates and adherence to their initial plan. Update the Project Integrated Schedule. Understand and challenge the deviations. Analyse and propose mitigations.

Collect and validate the physical progress from the various project stakeholders - Prepare the consolidated S-Curves

Analyze critical path(s), schedule variances, progress trends and allocation of resources

Produce KPIs such as labor productivity, commodities, etc.

If any, analyze subcontractors’ claims for delay and associated mitigation / recovery plans

Analyse schedule risks and uncertainties
Cost Engineering
-
Implement appropriate cost engineering processes for capital projects

Develop and maintain cost baseline and associated forecast for a portfolio of projects in accordance with the defined cost breakdown structure

Responsible to control and monitor all project expenditures, monitor commitments / exposure and cash flow

Analyze all additional charges or claims from suppliers, vendors and subcontractors to ensure that all potential project costs are captured and properly recorded

Focus on construction activities with subcontractors and vendors, review T&M works and provide forecast

Coordinate with Finance for cost reconciliations

Coordinate the maintenance of the project register for the tracking of quantities (civil, steel, piping, E&I, staffing&manhours)

Analyse cost uncertainties and capex risks and implement the foregoing for monte-carlo simulations
Reporting
-
Collaborate with Project Manager to issue Project Monthly Report (cost & schedule actual and forecast, milestones, trends, estimate to complete, risks and contingencies analysis)

Attend project review meetings with stakeholders

Actively contribute in development and global support of cost management and benchmarking tools as well as continuous improvement initiatives

Collaborate with Project Development to provide feedbacks, lessons learnt and benchmarks in order to support the estimating of future projects

Bachelors Degree in Engineering
-
4 years minimum of experience in project control in petrochemicals, oil&gas, mining, infrastructure or nuclear industry.

Ability to work effectively on multiple projects with competing priorities and deadlines
-
Strong analytical & organization skills with excellent attention to detail.

Strong written and verbal communication skills including presentation delivery to large / small group

Frequent travels to jobsites (domestic)
