Role description:
- Support production of project level reports for CCL including detailed analysis of project cost and changes.
- Maintain and control budget from design concept through to project completion. Coordinate with OR staff to establish initial budgets, develop cost estimates working with suppliers and other sources, and perform monthly Estimate at Completions on projects.
- Change management and control for total project cost (GC’s, direct suppliers and professional appointments).
- Analyze projects to ensure that project funding is adequate by performing estimates, cost forecasts, cost trends, and accrual of actual costs and attending deep dive meetings if required.
- Ensuring the execution of internal cost control control processes outlined in Owner’s “Project Manual” is carried out.
- Performs cost estimates for civil, structural, architectural, plumbing, HVAC and electrical disciplines including identifying funding source and expenditure of contingency.
- Prepare material, labor, and equipment cost estimates for concept designs, design development documents, bid documents, and change orders.
- Review general contractor cost tracking reports (high level and detailed).
- Work with client OR team to agree settlement of final accounts.
- Estimate and negotiate potential change orders including engaging in the EWN process.
- Monitoring and audit compliance.
- Reconcile cost data program with the client’s fiscal and financial controls systems.
- Ability to present results of cost analyses to senior staff and clients.
- Risk-based approach to the development of time and cost contingencies.
- Benchmarking of projects to demonstrate value for money and challenge.
- Provide contractual advice based on contract conditions.
- Valuing work at regular intervals including site walks.
- Providing cash flow advice including advising on WIP and accruals.
- Attend weekly review meeting with general contractor and ORs.
- Participate in workplace safety inspections.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline Quantity Surveying (Engineering, Construction Management,..).
- Quantity Surveying expertise.
- Understanding of construction means and methodology.
- Procurement expertise and supply chain knowledge.
- Ability to communicate clearly both in written and spoken form.
