Role description:
We are currently looking for a Quantity Surveyor / Cost Consultant to join our UK Water teams. As part of our Cost Management team, you’ll be involved in a wide range of projects from global and high profile to small and impactful, ensuring they’re delivered on time and to budget. Your expertise in planning, estimating, budgeting and managing costs will drive growth and smarter working.
This role would be working within our Resilience Global Business Area. We work to protect our natural environment and water resources, while powering our world for future generations. Around the world, we’re feeling the effects climate change, rapid urbanization, loss of biodiversity. The rate at which we’re seeing large-scale, unforeseen events such as floods and wildfires, is becoming more frequent. Role accountabilities:
- Collaborate with the NEC Project Manager to administer the post contract administration of NEC contracts, including assessment of contractual change and payments.
- To support suppliers in providing accurate and validated information for Project Cost and Financial Forecasts
- Commercial support / advice / guidance through all gateways to minimise cost and scope changes throughout the project life cycle
- Contract support / advice / guidance
- Procurement support
- Risk and opportunity (efficiency) – supporting the Client PM in validating costs for the Project Efficiency register before submission
- Participation in lessons learnt workshops to capture value, benefits, considerations for the future etc. as required
- Participation in Risk and value management/meetings as required for the projects
Qualifications & Experience:
- In-depth technical knowledge of specialised field, including construction processes and cost and commercial management in a consultancy setting
- Extensive NEC Contract experience
- Experience within the water sector would be preferable
- Demonstration of self-management and prioritisation skills with the ability to work under pressure
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to influence stakeholders and third parties
- Pre and Post Contract experience
- Capable of taking a project through from inception to completion
