RIB U.S. COST?is seeking a Senior Construction Cost Estimator to join our Atlanta team as a production manager to provide and manage estimating for large, complex projects ranging from $30M to 2.5B. RIB is a leader in providing estimating services across all verticals within the construction and EPC/M industry. Due the nature of some of our projects, U.S. citizenship is mandatory. Hybrid Work Schedule: The current schedule requires working from the Alpharetta office Tuesday and Wednesday.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Under the guidance of the Vice President, serves as production manager, developing and managing schedules for estimate preparation, review, and delivery and ensures deadlines are met.
Leads a team of estimators who are qualified to perform capital cost estimating.
Adheres to all policies related to the handling of Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI).
Assist estimators and project managers with their task.
Aids with the resolution of difficult and complex estimating problems, reconciliation with the contractor, comparison analysis between estimate submission and response to estimate comments.
Makes staffing assignments and manage/schedule all estimators and project managers workload.
Provides training and guidance to assigned personnel in the preparation, revision, and production of cost estimates.
Reviews work of subordinate personnel for quality, clarity, and application.
Prepares material takeoffs on the most complex projects, drawings, and plans.
Reviews takeoffs provided by others and checks for mathematical and technical accuracy. Perform complete QA/QC on the complete estimate.
Prepares detailed breakdown of components and elements of estimates for systems and subsystems.
Assigns material, equipment, subsystem, and subcontractor costs and labor costs to the estimate takeoff and quantification. Obtains quotes for materials and services from vendors and suppliers.
Perform cost estimate for all types of projects, from concept, SD, DD, CD and also change order estimate.
Participates in client review and presentation meetings as required.
Support the development of energy and sustainability analysis.
Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Knowledge, skills and abilities required:
Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, or construction management (or related field).
Certified Cost Professional certification preferred
Have at least 8-12 years of construction cost estimating experience.
Able to perform difficult and complex estimating activities typical to the A/E/C industry is required.
Possess excellent communications skills and a working knowledge of typical estimating software are required.
Be proficient in estimating software and Microsoft 365.
Have a clear understanding, and ability to work with, architectural and engineering drawings and specifications.
Experience with complex building, large infrastructure and/or aviation projects required.
At least three (3) years’ experience with a contractor during the construction phase of a project is strongly desired.
Familiarity with BIM modeling and using BIM models to create estimates.
Exhibit a high degree of professionalism in the production of deliverables and in interactions with fellow employees and clients.
Leadership capability and desire is required.
Flexible and able to multitask.
Available and willing to occasionally travel.
